Wet n wild Photo Focus Review

Today I want to talk about this Wet n Wild photo focus foundation. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this specific foundation. My twin sister recommended this to me and she loves it. I purchased it at Wal-mart for $4.68 and for the price this foundation is so good.

The formula is very lightweight. It is very easy to blend onto my skin. (I have combination skin by the wayway.) If you want to know how I prep my skin before I apply foundation let me know and I will do a blog post on it.

The foundation claims to be your skin but better. It also claims that when you take a flash photo it won’t leave you a white cast and it was tested under 7 different lights. I tried it with flash photography and I didn’t get a white cast.

This foundation in my opinion is medium to full coverage and it is buildable. On my face it lasts to about 11 to 12 hours and it starts rubbing off my nose but that’s expected from me because my nose tends to get oily.

I’m so glad I was having a bad skin day for this post because now you can see how good this foundation is. It covered mostly all my redness, dark spots, etc. This was with one layer of foundation and I applied it with my maybelline sponge, damped. Like the claim said, like your skin only better and I believe because look at the picture above, it gave me a flawless, even-toned finish.

Last picture is when my makeup is all done. I didn’t apply any concealer because I wanted to see if the foundation would crease up, it did. The side I didn’t apply setting powder to, ended up creasing after an hour. Overall I love this foundation. It lasted pretty long with and without setting powder. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Maybelline Face Studio Blender Review.

This Maybelline sponge is hands down my favorite from the drugstore. It is super affordable (hey $5) and you can purchase it at Wal-mart or Ulta. When you wet the sponge it gets to a pretty good size, I’m sorry I do not have a side by side comparison of the sponge wet and dry. When I apply the foundation onto my damped sponge it doesn’t soak up any product and it gives my face a nice airbrushed look. As seen on the photo above 1) on the curve you can grip for precision and accuracy 2) for blending large areas with your foundation 3) to blend hard to reach areas such as around your nose and under and inner eye area. You will see that in the end this sponge gives you a nice seamless look.

I give this sponge 5 stars. I truly recommend this to you all if you are on the hunt for a affordable beauty sponge.

These are some of the sponges I have tried, I only dislike one and I will explain why. I love trying new sponges every chance I get. These are all pretty affordable minus one but you do get what you pay for or better.

1. EcoTools total perfecting blender – This is the most affordable sponge. You can use this wet or dry for a nice air brushed look. It doesn’t soak up any product and you can purchase this at Ulta, Wal-Mart and Target.

2. Beauty Blender Pro – This beauty blender is perfect for those darker products that are hard to clean. This product also gets super moist which helps to use your product even more so it doesn’t soak up.

3. Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge – This sponge was not good. When you damp it, it is still hard and not bouncy at all. It soaked up my foundation and it ripped easily. It’s multi use but I really don’t recommend this.

4. Original Beauty Blender – The famous beauty blender. I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t like this sponge. I love it a lot and I think the price is pretty reasonable. It’s a multi use sponge. I love you use it damped, obviously. You can also use it dry for powders and it gives you a nice natural look.

5. Real Techniques Bold Metals Diamond Sponge –  The only thing I like about this sponge is that it’s latex free and it works good for hard to reach areas. What I hate about this sponge is that is absorbs my foundation so fast. Anyone else had this problem?

6. Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – This is the best dupe for the original beauty blender. This doesn’t soak up product and it is nice and bouncy and super affordable. I love purchasing this sponge in the twin pack.

7. L’Oreal Infallible Beauty Blender -This sponge is so soft to the touch and has a smooth surface which makes it easy to hold the product. I think it works really good wet or dry. When damped it gets nice and big. This doesn’t soak up any product. I really love this one.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Have any of you tried any sponges not on this list? I would love to know some of your recommendations. This is out of topic but have any of you tried a silicone sponge yet? I really want to try one.

Covergirl Review.

Something I have mentioned here over and over again is that I love to try new foundations and mascara. I have seen a lot of beauty youtubers mention this mascara and foundation and for the most part everyone seems to love them. But like always, I’m always late to the bandwagon because I love to see and read reviews on makeup then I test it out for two weeks or a month. Now let’s get started and keep reading to find out my thoughts on these two products.

1. Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation.

This foundation lives up to it’s title, vitalist healthy elixir. It makes your skin look so healthy and fresh. It is very easy to glide onto the skin and very blendable. Since this foundation is contains antioxidants and vitamins it does smell like a skincare product but ai do not mind. It is full coverage and lightweight on the skin. All I add is two pumps to a damped ecotools sponge. You can pack up as much foundation and your skin wont feel heavy. I have dry skin to oily skin and this foundations lasts all long, at least for me it does. I wear the color Buff Beige.

This was taken last friday early in the morning in natural lighting. Now you can see that on the left I have no foundation and on the right I have foundation on and it makes your skin really look healthy and glowy. Right?

2. Covergirl Total Tease Mascara.

I really love this mascara this leaves your lashes nice and defined. The brush brushes your lashes evenly and makes them look nice and flirty. I love the brush has a tease comb at the end for some instant fun lift on the edges of your lashes. I really recommend this.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post. Have any of you tried these two?

Ecotools review. (Brush set & Sponge)

I have really been loving this eco tools brush set. The new look has a pale looking handle, softer bristles and a much more aesthetically pleasing look. The brushes pick up a lot of product which is a plus and for the price they are really good quality. My old set is still in good condition the bristles dont come off when you clean them.

The sponge doesnt soak up my foundation. This sponge is super easy to clean. It gets really big when damped.

The new and old brush so you can see the difference. I had the yellow (old) for about 4 years I believe.

Beauty, Favorites

Current favorites.

Hello everyone. Today I want to talk about my current favorites that I think all of you will enjoy. I have been using these three products for about a month trying to get a good use out of them so I can really explain how they really work. All these three products are really good and definitely will be re-purchasing.

E.l.f HD lifting concealer – This concealer is so good and it is only $3. Now the only negative I have about this product is that it only comes in three shades. I bought the lightest one in the shade light and as seen above it is a little dark for my skin tone. I still tested this product out and once I apllied it, it actually blended into my skin really well and covered up my dark circles. This concealer claims to minimize your fine lines and uplifts your under eye area which I totally agree, when I applied this I instantly saw my eyes look more open and youthful looking. I wish I took before and after pictures but if you want to see a photo let me know and I will post a picture on instagram or here on the blog. This concealer doesn’t crease up and it is very light weight on the skin and not heavy. The consistency feels really good. This concealer has vitamin c, green tea and mulberry for lifting and soothing benefits.

Wet n wild megaglo contouring palette – When I purchased this palette I wasn’t sure if I was going to love it because I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about it. This palette has been out for a while but I finally decided to take the plunge and buy it. Julia Havens on youtube raves about this on her channel so I gave in and I can see why she loves it. I have the shade Dulce De Leche and it is a perfect shade for me as a bronzer. I do not contour with it because I much prefer it as a bronzer. The highlight side I use as a setting powder and it is a perfect shade for me. The only two things I hate about this palette is 1, it is very powdery so you have to tap out the eccess and 2, it can be a little patchy and sometimes I have to blend for a while and make sure I use a good brush, which I use my eco tools powder brush to bronze up my face. I do want to purchase the shade caramel toffee as well but Target didn’t have it. I also love how silky the texture is when you swatch it.

Wet n wild 1 step wonder gel – I bought this nail polish at Target in the shade Coral support. I have been wearing this shade non-stop on my fingers and toes and get a lot of compliments on it. This shade is perfect for spring and summer. This polish dries fast and it doesn’t chip easily which is a plus.

I hope you all enjoy this post. Also thank you all for reading and supporting my blog.

Pop Beauty Review. (LIQUID EYE LINERS)

PhotoGrid_1492036690124Hello everyone Spring has arrived and I’m excited to add some color to my makeup and clothes this season. In the Spring time I love to experiment with color whether it’s a bright lip, rosy cheeks or a nice swatch of color on the eye lids. I do not like to do my makeup super colorful at once, I love to accentuate one feature of my face with some color and keep it minimal. Today I’m sharing two liquid eye liners from Pop Beauty that I won from a giveaway last year and I was super excited to try them out. Until recently at a festival, Beyond Wonderland I decided to use them since the theme was Under the sea and the colors I have matched perfectly with both my outfits. I know color liners can be a little tricky because it can start looking a little to theatrical, at least for me. But if you use them the right way, your makeup can come out beautiful.

So when I was trying to find links for these eye liners, I realized these two are from a set of 3 found here. The only color I didn’t receive from the giveaway was backstage bronze. I love how these liners have a long felt tip, for me those type of liners are easy to swipe onto the lash line. They do dry pretty fast and you at least have to apply two coats two get the perfect color. Overall I think these liners are very good for the price and I will be purchasing some after I finish these.

For the festival I wore just the purple eye liner by itself one day and the second day I applied both of them at once as seen on the photo above. Now I don’t have pictures of that day because I forgot to take photos of my finished makeup look. But I tried my best to re-create the look. The only difference here is, I didn’t apply false lashes. But I’m excited to wear the liners by themselves because they do look cute and I’ve been wearing the purple one a lot recently by itself. If you decide to buy the eye liners make sure you prime your lids and set it with some powder because if you have oily eye lids, the color will come off and you wont be able to layer the color up very well. I hope you enjoy this post. I would love to know how you add some color to your makeup during the spring time.

Lush, Oatifix review.

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

Lush Cosmetics Oatifix Fresh Face Mask – This mask has been on my (must purchase) list for a while now. While stocking up on my two favorite products from Lush, which you can read about here, I took my 5 empty pots to get a free mask. When the employee asked me what mask I wanted for free, I had told him which mask will help my skin stay hydrated and moisturized and he said, “Oatifix, for sure” and I immediately said, “great, I will take that one because it has been on my list to try.” This mask smells so delicious, you will want to eat it.

This mask is really good for dry and irritated skin. Lately here in San Francisco it has been so cold and when it’s cold my skin gets really dry and irritated. Since this is for my dry skin, I intend to use it on the days I work because once I get home, I can feel my dry skin and we always have the A.C. on at work and that makes my skin worse and when I get home all I want to do is nurture my skin back to life after taking off my makeup.

I love to leave my mask on for 15-30 minutes, that’s what I do with all of my masks not just the Lush one’s. I really want all the ingredients to do it’s magic when I put any skin care product. When rinsing the mask off, I love to gently massage it and get the blood flowing, plus after a long day I can use a nice facial massage. After I rinse the mask, it leaves a nice moist finish but not a greasy feeling, just a nice hydrated feel. I really recommend this to all my fellow dry skin people. I hope you all enjoyed reading this post. I would also love to know what you recommend I try and what you love from Lush.

The only thing I dislike about this mask is, you have to keep it in the fridge. I always forget about them and eventually they get hard. But it does feel nice when you put on a cold mask.

Remember to love yourself and be confident. 💜
